Please carefully follow these guidelines for your approximately 1000 word book report:

• Title Page with title of book and name of author(s), number of pages, year published, course name, your name and date (this is a little different from the usual APA style title page)
• Include 3 “Level 1 Headings” in your paper: (Level 1 Headings are centered and bolded, as well as in Upper and Lower Case)
  • 1. Introduction of Book and Author(s)

• Begin by introducing the book title and the author(s)–biographical information on his/her background and credentials for writing a leadership focused book as well as insight into the author’s purpose in writing this book (in about 100 words, or one paragraph, written in 3rd person). This section requires a citation.

• 2. Summary of Book
  
  • Describe the central theme or report on the content of the book in about 600 words (this will be written in 3rd person)
  • NOTE: This section should be a summary of the book in your own words. I will assume that the “content” of this section is from your book, so no need to repeatedly cite in-text for this book report. However, if you directly quote any section of the book, please follow APA guidelines by using quote marks (or a block quote), and provide the page number.
• 3. Critique
  • Conclude the book report with a critique of your own thoughts and impression of the book in about 300 words This section will be written in 1st person. Include thoughtful self-reflection on how this book provided insight to your understanding of leadership and your own personal growth as a leader.
