In the previous post, we dealt with corruption that not only included the criminal organization but the criminal organization and their affiliation with the government in some way.   This week we are centering on how time has changed the way things work in the world and not only our little corner of the world.  There are places far away that we may never see in our lifetime, but they still have an impact on how things work here every day.  

“Organized crime has now established a far-reaching and globalized presence.  Because of information, technology, globalized markets, economics, ease of travel, and other drivers of change, it is no longer bound by the constraints of borders. Offenses such as drug trafficking, nuclear smuggling, organized crime, terrorism, human trafficking, computer crime, and other crimes have spilled from other countries into the United States. Regardless of origin, these and other transnational and international crimes directly impact U.S. national security and the interests of all Americans.”

Find a specific CASE that touches on one of the above offenses and deals with a specific criminal organization (CURRENT) and tell us about the incident(s) and a little about the organization.
