Based on a combination of course materials (readings, films, websites) and your own outside research, you will develop a journal that documents a historical event from the perspectives of the people involved. You are free to pick the event you cover, but it must be during the time periods discussed in class. Your journal must include the following:

– 3 to 5 pages in length, typed and double-spaced

– At least three different journal entries from the perspective of a person involved in the historic event. This can be a fictional person you make up or a real historic individual.

– Illustrate an understanding of the event and how it affected those involved. Be sure to mention specifics about the event and use your research to identify details about the environment, conditions, opinions, and feelings of those involved. The people represented within the journal can be made up, but be sure to make them as historically accurate as possible.

– At least 3 scholarly sources on a works cited page in MLA format. You may use your textbooks, or any of the websites used during the course, but may not use Wikipedia as a source. You do not have to use in-text citations.
