1. Creativity. Take some concepts (about stem cells and regeneration) that you have learned and envision how they may be put to use in the future, along with the positive and negative implications. The format is very flexible and this is not a scientific report but rather some sort of creative writing. What I don’t want is you to just re-explain a concept we have covered. For example, an essay about cloning dead people would not be seen as very original as this was the premise of the book we read so DO NOT choose this.

2. Scientific accuracy. Your essay should use real concepts and be accurate in the way they use them. For example, if you bring up a chimera, but then describe the biology of a hybrid I will deduct points. The science doesn’t have to be currently possible (in fact you’ll get extra credit for imagining science that might be possible years from now), but it still needs to be logical.
