Locate one (1) RESEARCH article found in recent (2009-Present) peer reviewed professional counseling literature (i.e. journals, not commercial websites). The article chosen should pertain to a developmental stages OR a developmental theory OR developmental interventions. The length of the article does not matter as long as it provides enough information for you to complete the assignment and answer all the sections required of the assignment.

Assignment Details:

For this assignment, write a brief synopsis and reaction to the article you have chosen (5-6 pages). Papers should be typed, double-spaced, 1 inch margins, use APA style and appropriate language, and include title page. Please also include a reference page listing the APA citation for your article of choice to the paper as well.

The brief synopsis must include the following:

Article’s focus or purpose,

What research findings were apparent in the article,

The authors’ conclusion about the research found

Following your synopsis, describe what you have learned about human development research as a result of conducting this review (this section will be considered your REACTION). Common reaction questions include (but are not limited to):

What are the implications of this research for your future professional work?

How might you incorporate the article’s ideas into your professional practice and why?

Why is this research important for working with client’s in a clinical setting?

What are my thoughts on this research and it’s impact on the lives of clients or my clinical identity

A thoughtful consideration of these questions is necessary for full points. You don’t have to answer all the above questions, but use them as a guide for your reaction/reflection part of the paper.

Your reaction must include the following:

Why you chose this article (i.e., you live with the specific diagnosis, or you wanted to know more information about the treatment of a diagnosis, etc.)

What you learned about the diagnosis and/or treatment from the article

Your opinion about the article and the research found
