Paper 1 Prompt: Ebola Crisis

Prompt: The methodologies for dealing with various health crises are different depending on the particular issue. Some countries are more prepared than others for handling certain issues. Using what you have learned in this class, examine the current readiness of the international community for dealing with Ebola health crisis case study. Your case study can be from crisis facing the international community.

Questions to consider while writing your paper:

1. What is the causal factor or epidemiology of your choses case study?
2. What was the mythologies/policies for dealing with this crisis?
3. How do academics/history judge the effectiveness of the policies for dealing with the crisis?
4. what do you think is the best method for dealing with another crisis like this in the future?

Paper requirements:

All submissions should be written as a Word document in 12-size Times New Roman font, double-spaced, with one-inch margins on all four sides, and numbered at the top right hand corner of each page. Paper format should include a title page, body, and a bibliography. Proper Chicago Style OR APA footnote with page number or paragraph where you get the informations citations should be used. Failure to follow any of these criteria will result in points taken off of your final grade for EACH missing item from the overall format. Criteria for grading these papers are as follows:

• adherence with the above formatting
• answering any and all questions of the paper assignment
• clarity of writing style; technical accuracy for syntax, grammar, and spelling
• satisfying the word count
• submitted to The class page by the deadline in a Word Document or PDF document

*NOTE: students WILL NOT be given an additional opportunity to submit their paper if they submit their paper in other formats other than a Word Document or PDF document.

Students will be expected to write 1500-2000 words (roughly 7-9 pages body section) per paper the footnote doesn’t include on the count to address each assigned prompt. Writing less than the minimum word requirement will reduce your final grade by one full letter grade. You will have no less than seven(7) Academic sources cited in your paper. Sources must be academic, a published book, or a government resource. For this class students are required to use footnotes and NOT in-paper citations. Each cited source should be cited at least once. Students who use less than the minimum required sources, do not accurately reflect their cited sources with their bibliography, or use sources that are deemed “unsuitable” and fall under the minimum requirement will receive a grade no greater than a “C” as their final grade.

*Note: Footnotes are not part of the word count so be sure you do not include them.

This should be a full paper complete with an introduction, several body paragraphs, and a conclusion to deftly summarize the major points. Prompts for the papers will be provided in the sections they are assigned (see class schedule for assignment dates and due dates). Prompts will cover some aspect of International Relations and have accompanying questions to help guide the student’s responses. Students that fail to answer ALL questions and aspects of the paper topic will receive a grade NO higher than a C on this assignment. This paper should demonstrate a careful analysis of the prompt.
