This research project focuses on natural geological hazards to the San Diego, CA area. Your first goal is to conduct extensive research of one of the major geological hazards that are common to the San Diego area: a) Landslides, b) Coastal Erosion and c) Earthquakes. This will include research into the history of these processes in the San Diego area as well as more current events. Your second goal is to form clear ties between these geologic processes and the science of physics and chemistry. This is an independent research project, but collaboration among students in encouraged for brainstorming ideas and helping each other with the research process.
