IT 214: Instructions for Homework Assignment 8

1. Click the Homework Assignment 8 link to start the assignment. Your unique set of problem numbers will be displayed in a new window (the actual problems are at the end of Chapter 4 of your textbook). Copy the assigned problem numbers.
2. Open a MS Word file and type the course number, section number, HW number, and your name.
3. Paste copied problem numbers into your MS Word file.
4. If you did not run scripts creating the Premiere Products, Henry Books, and Alexamara Marina Group databases, you need to run the scripts. Follow the instructions given in the Guide to MySQL: PowerPoint Presentation for Chapter 4 available on Blackboard.
5. For each of the assigned problems, write a SQL query to retrieve the required information and test the query in MySQL. Once the query is successfully executed, type your first name and last name at the next mysql> prompt and take a screen shot (press ALT+PRINT SCREEN by holding down the ALT key and then pressing the PRINT SCREEN key). Paste the screen shot in the appropriate location in your MS Word file. Make sure the query, the confirmation messages (if any), and the results (if any) are included in your screen shot. You may use one screen shot for several SQL queries and you may also use several screen shots for one SQL command if needed (see the EXAMPLE section below).
