The purpose is to draw a conclusion based upon the primary sources about 1938 War of the Worlds broadcast.

Using resources, Proquest Historical Newspapers, Proquest Entertainment Industry Magazine Archive, or the Media History Digital Library locate two extra primary source from a print publication that provides insight into the public’s or the press’ reaction to this broadcast.

Using all of the sources as evidence, write ~500-600 words (1.5-2 double-spaced pages) making a claim about what those sources tell us about the topic being discussed. Use quotes from the sources when it makes sense to do so. Consider the presumed audience for the sources; a counterculture newspaper is speaking to different readers than a trade publication about the TV industry, for instance. Pay attention to counterarguments, too: if seven sources indicate one position, but one source says the opposite, you may need to qualify your claim accordingly.

Include a full bibliography listing all six sources. Follow the MLA (notes/bibliography) citation style, and use the Purdue OWL guidelines if you are not sure what format to follow.
