Students will write a 2-3 page letter to be addressed to a U.S. or state lawmaker (representative
or senator) of his/her choosing. This letter will address a concern regarding a law, policy, or
pending legislation that impacts families and/or other relationships. The position taken in the
paper should be backed up either by course material from the course or outside sources. (It
is the student’s choice to mail the actual letter)
