Humanities Homework Help. Analyze Shakespeare’s The Tempest, and include ALL the following all elements in the assignment.

English 12 Sem 1

Points Possible:30

Date:

Team up with a partner and analyze Shakespeare’s The Tempest. You must work independently to create annotations defining and explaining unfamiliar words in two different scenes. Then you will trade scenes, read your partner’s annotations, and write a paragraph explaining how your partner’s scene reveals Shakespeare’s views on colonialism or imperialism.Your assignment should include the following elements:

  • At least 20 annotations that define words modern readers (including your partner) are unlikely to know
  • At least two annotations that explain the history, or etymology, of a word
  • At least two annotations that explain how to pronounce a word
  • A paragraph about your partner’s scene that analyzes Shakespeare’s message about colonialism or imperialism in The Tempest

You should have completed a draft of this assignment in the activity before this one. If you haven’t done so, go back and complete that activity now.

If you’re studying in a solo classroom, you may complete the activity by choosing a scene and annotating it. Then, write a paragraph analyzing how your scene shows Shakespeare’s views on colonialism or imperialism.

Working in a low-tech environment? If you don’t have access to a word processing program that allows you to cut, paste, and add footnotes to a text, see your teacher for guidance about how to create your annotations. You can always write them out by hand on a separate sheet of paper, for example.

Ask yourself these questions as you revise:

  • Did I create at least 20 definition annotations for a scene in Shakespeare’s The Tempest?
  • Did I include pronunciation information for at least two words and etymology information for at least two words?
  • Did I read and study the annotations my partner wrote?
  • Did I write a paragraph analyzing Shakespeare’s views on colonialism or imperialism in my partner’s scene?
  • Did I back up the ideas in my paragraph with evidence from the text?

If you worked alone, ask yourself these questions:

  • Did I create at least 20 definition annotations for a scene in Shakespeare’s The Tempest?
  • Did I include pronunciation information for at least two words and etymology information for at least two words?
  • Did I write a paragraph analyzing Shakespeare’s views on colonialism or imperialism in my scene?
  • Did I back up the ideas in my paragraph with evidence from the text?

Use this rubric to determine how well you’re meeting the criteria for the assignment.
