A Black Man-ologueis an exercise that uses the concept of soliloquy (i.e. talking to oneself) and/or monologue to address a theme in a Black man’s character. This requires sbrutality and racismome research. It is a form of dramatic entertainment that allows the performer to get into the personality of the black man being addressed in an effort to imagine and actualize the character’s innermostthoughts. The key is to be as creative as possibleand apply a position to the theme selected. Centered ona theme (i.e. domestic violence), the creation of your Black man character can be in opposition to public opinion, fact, or counter-narrative. It is one page in length.  You must end the Man-ologue with the following statement: “I am (Name of Black man you chose) and this is my Black man-ologue.”
