What is the Shark Tank 101 Entrepreneur Challenge? Students are encouraged to form teams of two and create a business proposal around an innovative idea. The team’s submitted presentation should include the following: (1) a problem, (2) a proposed solution, (3) a targeted customer that the business would impact. Business ideas will be submitted using a pitch deck presentation template. The round of judging will take place online using Zoom with a 4-minute pitch to a panel of prestigious judges. Judges will have two additional minutes to ask questions of the team. Teams may not consist of more than two students, and teams are limited to one idea to submit.

Successful teams need members who are enthusiastic about an idea and/or curious about how to develop an idea into a complete product or business. Teams should be willing to work together on all aspects of the competition. Company formation is not a requirement to enter the challenge. This competition is intended to help students think of business/product ideas and to see how successful they would be in the real world.
