P2: Personal Meaning (6 points)

Identify 3 works of Art or Architecture and state facts you learned in this course about each. These works and facts must combine to create personal meaning for you. State what that personal meaning is with the context of the works and their information.

For example, “The church at St. Denis had personal meaning for me because I am an engineering major and the change in structure for a building was important to understanding the development of materials and their relative strengths.”

A second example: “The Lion Man sculpture which comes from the Paleolithic period and is perhaps an early example of religion has meaning for me because I am a double major of sociology and anthropology and I wish to study religions.”

A third example: “The Parthenon has significance, not only because it is one of the 10 great works of Architecture in the world, but my Grandmother was from Athens and as I’ve begun to learn about ancient Greece, I find a connection between the history of that great culture and my own heritage.”
