For this essay, I would like you to think about comparative anatomy or macroevolution. 

Describe at least two different groups of animals; compare and contrast their anatomy and physiology. What might be some of the reasons that these features arose and differentiated? How do unique features in a particular taxon help an animal survive and reproduce? How can we use our understanding of vertebrates to advance medicine, society, and/or engineering (biomimicry)? Make sure to include at least 2 recent studies (in the last five years) being done in the field and what scientists are currently working on. You can choose to discuss multiple groups of organisms (ex. fish, amphibian, reptile, birds, & mammals) or just compare two groups of animals (ex. birds and reptiles). Make sure you have done in-depth research on the topic and that your paper includes new material from outside of class.
