Racial identity is based on both biological and social factors . In the day in time your racial indemnity plays a big part in your life . Your biological race is determined at birth and depicts how the world looks at you for the rest of your life . The social factor also plays a big role. Race is a social construct itself . Some cannot see past color and it is often the only thing we are identified as .

i believe racial identity is based on biological factors.i think this because when you are born you already have a race because of your parents and as you grow up you start to learn more and adapt to that culture till you get out and learn that there a lot of other races out there not just the one you were raised on.

Differentiate between individual and institutional racism.  Give specific examples.

Respond: 

The difference between individual and institutional racism is that individual racism is what you as an individual think and judge another’s race or culture, for example there is a couple and they are both different races and you as an individual think that’s wrong but others might not. Institutional racism is where racism is in the mores or legal structure of a social institution. An example of this could be when many individuals make it obvious that a race isn’t welcome and go against them.

Individual racism originates in the racist beliefs of a single person.For example, a racist teacher may feel like just by a student’s race that they won’t pass their class.

Institutional racism occurs when racist ideas and practices embodied in the folkways, mores, or legal structures, or various institutions.For example, a policy to be biological and to be various racial groups that compose the nation!
