Questions 1-4
1. In some instances, genres overlap each other,
as in Zombieland or Shaun of the Dead. In your opinion, do
you think these movies fall into an existing genre, such as horror or comedy?
If so, which one do they fall into? Why did you select this genre? If not, how
would you define the genre? What would you call it?
2. Many science fiction films are set in a
dystopian future (meaning a future that is frightening and oppressive). What
types of stories and action are typical of these films? What would you do to
“break the mold” in this type of film?
3. When was the last time a film made you laugh?
Analyze the type of humor you responded to. Was it slapstick, situational,
dark, or another type of comedy?
4.
The author Stephen King is listed as one of the key figures in
the horror genre. Why do you think so many of his works have been made into
films? In other words, what key aspects of his works translate well to the big
screen?
