To be a successful team member of a traditional work team you must have a few essentials skills. Trust that you will do your part and your teammates will do their part. We are all working for a common goal for the success of the team. You must be able to get along with other and be open minded. I think that we also need to be able to jump in a take control when needed or help out others. As being a member of a self-managed team, I still think you need all the above. I also think you must be able to use effective management skills in order to keep yourself on track and hold yourself accountable for your actions. I think the virtual teams are the hardest to be in. Only because you are relaying on people that you don’t see in person. You must have high motivation skills to be a successful team member on a virtual team, especially because you might be the only one that is working on a part of a project. – Leo R.
