Hans Von Hentig’s theory is the best typology when it comes to classifying criminals. This theory is extremely common when deciphering why a criminal does what they do. It does a wonderful job explaining why criminals victimize a particular group of people. Hentig’s theory selects a group with mental hang-ups such a bad childhood or one who suffers from substance abuse and examines the victims that they are attracted to. This allows one to a simplified gateway to the understanding of how selects a victim. Vulnerability is the biggest proponent when to comes to become a victim and many victims may fall in the categories that have been defined by Hentig.
