A single mom drops off her 4-year-old child with you after he has been out of school for 2 days with a fever, constant runny nose, and cough.  The mother reports that the child is feeling much better and that her boss has informed her that she will lose her job if she misses any more work this month.  By 10:00 am.am., the child is running a fever of 101, coughing continuously, and complaining of a headache.  He goes to the library corner and falls asleep.  You do not have a school nurse in your program.  What would you do?
