Gender roles play a huge part in the way we are socialized.  From birth, we are ‘trained’ in art of living up to gender roles we are assigned.  When I was a child, there were just some colors that were off limit.  I certainly couldn’t wear pink or purple (not that I ever wanted to).  Ever since I could remember, I liked math and considered it apart of my gender identity.
