THIS IS A 2 PART ASSIGNMENT: THE ANNOTATION AND THE INDIVIDUAL DEBRIEFING

PART 1: You and your group members will be reading and annotating an article regarding courtship practices in early America. Your goal is to interact with your group members to analyze the courtship practices over time: look for similarities, differences and possible reasons why changes occurred. You will find the article in your group’s file section. YOU WILL NOT BE SUBMITTING THE ANNOTATIONS, I WILL LOOK AT EACH GROUP’S GOOGLE DOCUMENT TO ASSESS THIS ASSIGNMENT.

PART 2: Individually, you will also be submitting a debriefing discussion covering what you have learned from the article and what you have learned from the social annotation practice. YOUR INDIVIDUAL DEBRIEFING WILL BE SUBMITTED HERE and should be comprised of at least 5 substantive sentences worth up to 10 points.

Social Annotations Instructions and Rubric:

  • Initiates comments on the discourse (not simply replying to the comments of others)
  • Makes comments and replies to others’ comments throughout the text (not only on the first few pages)
  • Poses important questions about the discourses within the text(s)
  • Write comments that fulfill the criteria found in the marking rubric below
