Write a two pages (500–1000 words) proposal/abstract, in which you describe a project that you choose to work on as a term project for the class.  You may change your topic later.

In your proposal, you should provide background information on the problem and a literature review of your methodology and approach.  You do not need to work out any results.

You need to show that it’s an interesting and meaningful problem.  You also need to argue that you are capable of solving the problem in a reasonable amount of time by

1. Presenting a pragmatic approach;
2. Demonstrating you have access to data needed;
3. Demonstrating you have access to computing resources (computer, storage) needed;
4. Discussing what kind of results are expected.
