To remain competitive, research is key to staying up to date on what other companies are offering and doing to attract and retain employees. Also, gathering employee feedback, by creating tools for employees to submit constant feedback and conducting focus groups, employees feel like their voice matters and what they have to say is important. It also opens the door to innovation and creating new ways to keep employees motivated and engaged. When you have engaged employees, they are more likely to be creative and innovative, bringing the best version of themselves to work. Desai (2013) discusses how “employees are the very source of ideas that can help us create and innovate. When employees become disheartened, how is it possible to grow year after year, decade after decade” (P.13)?

After the pandemic, employees were given the choice to continue to work remotely, go back into the office or work a hybrid schedule. Most employees chose to continue to work remotely, so coming up with new ideas and resources for employees as they adapt to a new way of doing things will be important. I want to ensure we have the best opportunities and programs to help with the development and training of remote employees. Promoting employee engagement for new ideas will help gain new insight for a new norm within the organization.
