There will be two writing assignments required for the course. Each paper must contain three or more outside sources in addition to the text. Each paper will be in the APA format. Each paper will be approximately 9double-spaced, typed pages in length (in 12-point font with one-inch margins).

1. Paper #1 – Student will conduct research on violent crime in the Cities of Chicago and New Orleans for the year of 2016. The student will attempt to explain what criminological theory or theories apply to the crimes occurring in these two cities. Does the same theory or theories apply to both or do they differ? Why?
