Anthony

Phelps Mission statement

“This school and my classroom should be a community of students and teachers who feel safe enough to make mistakes, to share insights, and to take risks. The primary goal of the learning environment should be to engage teachers and learners in the process of thinking. In creating this environment, careful planning and positive relationships are essential elements. Because modeling makes a difference in learning, I will strive to uphold high standards and expectations and to develop better problem-solving skills” (Phelps 2008).

Borman K-8 Middle School

Vision Statement

All Borman Students will become Quality Learners that Meet or Exceed State Standards

Mission Statement

Teachers and Staff at Borman K-8 Middle School strive to improve each student’s educational performance. This will be brought about through quality teaching, re-teaching and enrichment, building continuity among grade levels through properly aligned state standards, and integration of a school wide Life Skills curriculum.

My vision statement

Is to develop as well as create well-versed, self-reliant, and conscientious human-beings who seek to maximize their talents. This will be accomplished through the establishment of producing an atmosphere that promotes safety first, while creating a friendly educational forum that lends itself to accommodating individuals where all are different but equal where all accomplishments are recognized.

I took my vision statement and based it on my experiences as a teacher, mentor and coach at my school and based it a lot from what I have learned growing up as a kid from parents, teachers and from my time in the military. Our school mission statement made me think of the fact that it does include life-skills that is needed to be taught and developed in today’s arena for students especially with the high influences of social media and culturally diverse learners.  And I think piecing these qualities along with my life experiences helped me decide on to create a Mission statement that coincides not just on academia standards but life-skill standards and qualities that it takes to be a strong and positive citizen for building stronger communities.

SSD Vision Statement

“We work with parents, students, partner districts and the community to benefit students. We so the right thing at all times. We protect entrusted resources to advance student success. We use a systematic approach to achieve excellence.”

My Vision Statement

“Every day we should aim at finding the spark in each child that leads to further growth and learning. I believe that despite abilities and differences, every child has something to contribute that others can learn from. Through observations and listening, children can then find their voice in this world.”
